Perhaps by now you’re wondering who exactly Sean Miller is, right?

Well for starters, he is not someone who takes his responsibilities lightly, lacks motivation, or is OK with the status quo. He enjoys what he does, he strives to make a difference and add value, and he’s always looking for the next challenge. He’s a pretty normal guy seeking all the opportunities to develop, grow, and learn as a technologist, colleague, friend, and scholar as he can.

He lives in Southeastern Pennsylvania, and has for his entire life. He attended college at Widener University, where he studied Management Information Systems, spent some time in the band playing the saxophone, and also served the community as a volunteer firefighter. Throughout college, he landed a pretty awesome gig as an intern at ING Direct, which later became part of the Capital One family, and so began his career in the financial industry.

Shortly after graduating from Widener, he continued his education at the University of Maryland, University College (UMUC) where he studied Database Systems Technologies in the Master of Science, Information Technology program, and also continued his career at Capital One, taking on multiple roles, and wearing a variety of different hats. Sean is currently a Scrum Master at Capital One striving to make a difference in how teams deliver software. His teams primarily focus on solutions that improve the customer experience when moving money, and on top of traditional scrum master responsibilities, he gets to learn about and play with all kinds of cool technology. He is also now pursuing his MBA at UMUC #lifelonglearner. Outside of work and school, he is a Director at the Rocky Run Fire Company in Media, PA, a volunteer firefighter for the Union Fire Company in Oxford, and even serves Widener University on the Business Analytics Advisory Board.
