Projects
Things I’ve built, tested, or made. Some are serious, some are experiments. I only list what you can actually go look at.
Work I do for employers stays with employers, so it isn’t here.
Next2Respond
Volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue companies still recruit with paper applications and word of mouth. I built Next2Respond to modernize that. Departments get a recruiting page, an online application, and an applicant pipeline their officers can share. Volunteers can search for companies near them and apply online.
It’s personal for me: I’m a volunteer firefighter, and my own department uses it pro bono.
Built with: Next.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Stripe, hosted on AWS Amplify
Buy a Random Product
Click a button, get a random Amazon product. Could be brilliant, could be bananas. I built the first version in about three weeks with an AI coding tool, then rebuilt the backend in Python when the original started breaking under real traffic.
It’s a small, affiliate-supported side project and a good place to learn what AI-assisted development is actually like.
Built with: AWS S3, CloudFront, and Lambda; Python; Amazon product data; built with Windsurf, Jules, and Claude

Cursor 101 tutorial
A from-scratch guide to building apps with the Cursor AI editor, written for people who have never coded. Most tutorials assume you know the basics. This one doesn’t.
Built with: Cursor; written guide plus video

LIFX outdoor lighting
Smart landscape lighting without adding another hub. I installed LIFX outdoor spotlights and wrote up what worked and what didn’t after six months of living with them.
Built with: LIFX outdoor spot lights, Wi-Fi, existing smart home setup

MilhausHD on YouTube
MilhausHD is my YouTube channel. It’s mostly equipment and tractor content (I own a 2024 Kubota X758), plus product tests like my Honda vs. Toro mower comparison and tech walkthroughs.
Built with: A camera, a tractor, and a lot of editing
